Behind the Behavior: Understanding Children's Triggers
2 PM EST / 1 PM CST / 11 AM PST
45 Minutes
\When children throw tantrums, get into trouble, or develop odd habits, you may struggle to react in a way that will curb behavioral issues without being overly harsh or judgemental. It is natural to want to comfort a child when they are upset, but it is also important to know how to react to help your child learn what is appropriate and how to communicate their needs.
Introducing the S.E.A.T. framework: Sensory, Escape, Attention, and Tangible. In this webinar we review how we can react to these four triggers in order to support a child’s development. We’ll review when to seek further help and how neurodiversity leads to children experiencing these challenges even more intensely.
Our host for this session is Homethrive Care Guide Ruth De Azevedo. A Certified Behavioral Health Case Manager, Ruth draws on her extensive background in ABA and family advocacy to support parents, children, and neurodivergent individuals.
